“Joe Quint is a documentary filmmaker and photographer from Brooklyn, NY. Widely exhibited, Quint’s work consists largely of telling well-intentioned and respectful stories about the human condition and people on journeys—those who are either experiencing great challenges or who have overcome such challenges. Quint has an ongoing project about the impact of gun violence on a diverse group of Americans and he’s recently completed an award-winning film about a gun violence and a domestic violence survivor who has channeled her traumas into service.”

“Aundre Larrow is a Jamaican-born photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. From his work as an Adobe Creative Resident exploring stories across the country to working on the set of W. Kamau Bell’s TV series United Shades of America, Larrow seeks to see the fundamental truth in each human being, regardless of background, culture or upbringing. For him, portraiture is the archeologist’s chisel, the biologist’s microscope, the physicist’s Large Hadron Collider.”

“SVA i3 Lecture series presents British-born photographer Janette Beckman. Beckman began her career in the punk rock era, photographing bands from The Clash to Boy George, as well as three Police album covers. In 1983 she moved to New York to document the underground hip hop scene, photographing pioneers Run DMC, Slick Rick, Salt-N-Pepa, LL Cool J, and many more. She has published five books, the latest Rebels from Punk to Dior in November 2021.”

Crista Dix is the Griffin Museum of Photography’s new executive director. Dix arrived at the Griffin Museum as the associate director in March 2020 after fifteen years creating and operating her own photography gallery, wall space creative, closing it in 2020.
