About The NYC Photo Community
NYC Photo Community is a website, weekly newsletter and Instagram account dedicated to finding and sharing photography talks, events, exhibitions, classes, and opportunities. The newsletter was created in September of 2019 as a way to aggregate all the great in-person photography events in the New York City area. A few months after our launch, Covid-19 hit, and now we list in-person events in NYC as well as online events or classes as long as they are accessible in NYC. Each newsletter also features the work and story of a New York City photographer. Although we celebrate all photographers, we intend to spend most of our energies promoting the work of emerging and under-represented photographers (of any age) who are working or have worked in NYC. Our other focus is on photographers who are trying to use the medium for artistic expression in whatever genre they work.
