Penumbra Foundation is pleased to present After Bayard, by Alyssa Minahan, 2021 Penumbra Workspace Artist in Residence.

‘During my month-long residency at Penumbra, I focused on Bayard’s direct positive process and created a book that is a conversation with his Album d’Essai. Bayard never fully documented the formula for his process, so although there is a general understanding of his methodology, there is still space for experimentation.’
